Woodworking
Woodworking
I've had an interest in woodworking for as long as I can remember. My grandfather instilled a love for it (as well as a few skills) starting way back when I was young. He and I would putter around in his shop in Lubbock every time we'd go to visit the grandparents. As I grew older, I got a little more advanced until I was in junior high school and had the opportunity to take a wood shop class. Needless to say, I loved it. First semester was spent learning how to draft and make plan drawings. Second semester was actually building some of the project we had drawn up during the fall semester. During that spring semester, while most kids in the class struggled to finish a single (and sometimes simple) project, I built three! I built a trophy cabinet for the band, then built some cabinets for the utility room, and finished up by building a stand for a 40 gallon aquarium I had back in those days. I even submitted plans for a 4th project and worked out a schedule with the shop teacher over the summer to build a bedroom wall unit that I still use today.
At the time of this writing, I've recently purchased some new woodworking machinery and am really looking forward to getting back out there and making stuff. I'll use this section to talk about my projects and equipment and maybe pass along some information to those that might also be interested in woodworking.
