This is my little corner of the online world, and I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you. The purpose of this site is to provide an online dumping ground of information about me and my hobbies, projects, travels, interests, opinions and anything else I might think to put out here. My goal is to provide an easy means of contacting me and to share my ideas, experiences and photos with anyone who might be interested (and even some that aren't).
I sincerely hope you enjoy your visit, and please feel free to contact me should the urge strike you.

My big vacation for 2010 was a 12-day cruise of the Mediterranean. I joined my folks and 12 other people on this fantastic trip, and it was definitely a trip of a lifetime! We visited six countries during our 17-day trip: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey, and saw some amazing places, experienced some incredible history, and met some fantastic people. I've finally finished the trip story and photos from the trip. Please feel free to read - and see - all about it! By the way, the relatively new photo gallery software I'm using on the site allows a whole host of new functionality compared to the old stuff, including commenting of galleries and individual photos as well as geotagging. With that and the help of Google Maps, you can see with (in most cases) good accuracy where I was standing when I took a particular photo. I've updated all of the pictures from our 2008 Italy trip with the new features as well. Enjoy! |

Greetings all! I know it has been a while since I've updated content here. Funny thing - I was trying to show some folks my pictures from Italy. I recently changed the way the URLs show up in browser address bars, and, well...it broke my picture gallery. So that prompted me to not only find another picture gallery (still working on that...), but to also update some content and add some new features. I've now added article ratings and a comment system. So let me know what you're thinking about the content of my site and the articles. Keep in mind that everything is moderated, and spammers will not be tolerated. Anyway, check it all out and let me know what you think. Thanks! |

I'm super duper excited! I have signed a contract for a Generac 20 kW natural gas-fueled, whole-house automatic standby generator! Even though it is rated at 18 kW on natural gas, the unit is large enough to power everything in the house, including my two central air conditioners. I chose Quality Generators to do the installation, and they do everything: pour the concrete pad, install and hook up the generator - including the automatic transfer switch, and do run/load testing after the gas company plumbs everything into the gas meter. I'm expecting to have the unit in and functional by around the first of September. I'll be posting more updates and some of the blow-by-blow during and after installation, so be sure to stay tuned! |

I've finally added a second canine companion to the family. Harrison is approximately 2 years old (standard vet answer, I think...), and although improving, he still has a long way to go. The Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas rescued him back in late August from the Harris County pound, and I got him on 10/18. He's underweight, has heartworms, and was completely bald from a reaction to a severe flea allergy when they rescued him. At present, he's around 108 pounds, is undergoing heartworm treatment, and his hair is starting to grow back. Check out Harrison's full story, pics and progress under the My Dogs section for more info. |
