A definite signature of Santorini:  the whitewashed buildings and the blue domes of the Greek Orthodox churches.  They're more numerous in Oia, so I felt fortunate to find one in Fira.

Looking back at Fira.

The Star Princess (left) and Brilliance of the Seas with some tender traffic in the lagoon of Santorini.  The central volcanic dome island of Nea Kameni is seen behind the ships.  The island to the right is the island of Therasia; the one on the left is the southern end of Thera, the island that the town of Fira is on.

Therasia is the second largest island that makes up the ring of Santorini.  It is across the lagoon to the west from Thera (the largest main island).
