Photos from our port of call at Naples, Italy on Sunday November 21, 2010. Stops and sights on this trip included the Amalfi coast, Positano, Sorento and Pompeii.

This area wasn't accessible, but the columns looked cool, so I held the camera over a fence to take this shot.
A public water fountain in Pompeii. I didn't get a shot of the pipes, but many of them were made of lead. Makes you wonder what "lead" to the downfall of the Roman Empire...
The Temple of Jupiter. I thought originally it was the Temple of Zeus, but apparently I was mistaken. See the little white head in there? See the next picture.
Another of the famous plaster casts from Pompeii, along with many other items recovered during excavation.
I know it is ridiculous...but, even though I'd seen it on TV, this made my heart hurt. More than for the human casts - and this canine died almost 2,000 years ago. This poor dog died in agony. Nonetheless, still a stunning cast.
