Photo Galleries - Anzio & Nettuno
Photos from my visit to Anzio and Nettuno - home of one of the American Cemetaries from World War II.
At the wharf in Anzio. Mac is in the red shirt, Jerry (dad) is to the right in the yellow.
We'd just finished lunch in Anzio. That's our waiter on the left, with Mac and Charles to the right.
The informational plaque at the cemetary. Some very interesting information - the 77 acre facility contains 7,861 of our soldiers, Marines and sailors that died in area fighting. You might want to download the big picture if you want to read it. Click the grey box w/green down arrow to download and view.
A veiw of some of the headstones to the southwest of the entrance fountain. That's Mac walking towards the left.
A closer shot of some of the headstones. That's Mac stepping down towards the fountain.
Headstones. How did they get them so perfectly spaced to make the curved lines? Notice the Star of David towards the left.
